l had the car for 24 hours and The wiring inside the dash caught fire. Can l get legally get it back? the title is my name still but its sighed over to him...i just put insureance on teh car, but l dont think it will cover it. What can l do incese he doesnt wanna give the car back, like the stated to me 24 hrs before.

He says he will trade it back but now he is ingoring me...what do l need to do. Can l file for a lost title, and or report the car stolen?

you traded didnt you so really you must have wanted the car or you wouldnt have.. dont think you have a leg to stand on

all you can do is ask him to honor your agreement. if he refuses, next time you will know better.

Unless the two of you put something in writing which you both signed, you're at the mercy of whether or not he wants to honor his word.

if the person you traded vehicles with honors the agreement then yea he should trade back..but you already released the title to him so legally he owns the car..

You need to have any such agreement in writing. If it isn't, you can ask him to honor it, but he probably won't.

Things not written down, signed and notarized have no weight. What he told you does not matter. You can ask, but l doubt he will trade back now that you damaged it.

Of course, if you have insurance, and fire coverage, they might fix it.

Verbal agreements are worth the paper they are written on.

l am sure you had some written agreement that covers the ''trade back'' arrangement? If not, bummer. Get the car fixed and drive it.
