l plan on purchasing a 2000 buick la Sabra and it has 125801 ormore mile on it, and it currently needs a head gasket. Is it worth the 800.00 for the vehicle as well as the 500 for repairs????

It is an 8 year old car. That is alright.

You do want to fix that intake manifold gasket. Real common issue on those 3800s. Othrwise, a solid pickup for the money.

l had that manifold gasket done on my 3800 motor as well. It really should have been a recall. The part was poorly designed and guaranteed to break around 100k miles. It does not sound like a bad deal, but PLEASE take it to a mechanic first to confirm that there are no other issues. It is $75 well spent. Otherwise you are taking the seller is word for it. Not wise. If that is the only problem, the 3800 is a motor that can go 3-400,000 miles if maintained.
