l have a lump sum and l wanna purchase an 05 or 06 used Audi, pay in cash on ebay.......l am kind of scared to though as my payment will have to be wire transfer as l will likely be purchasing from Florida, live in Oregon, and have to pay shipping costs as well. l was scammed for 5k on Craig is list by sending out a money transfer...dumb me l know...but am kind of skeptical...is the incentive to save 5-8k on a used Audi by purchasing from ebay a good idea??

You are at the sellers mercy. All you have to go on is what he is telling you and basically you are buying it sight un seen. l bought a truck on Ebay and it was a piece of crap, but you do not know that till you go to pick it up. By then it is too late. Buy your car locally.

bought & sold many .. only one problem ever came up. other than that ,they were all prety easy. check for feedback comments , deal with seller with a good history & get all the pictures & info u can before u give anyone any money !!! never send all the money until you're happy with what u have ! never send money orders or use bank transfers with out getting all the seller info . true name & address,phone number & some kind of assurance it will be EXACTLY what they say it is (or better)before u go & find its huge piece of crap with pretty paint. ! also check with ur insurance company before u buy a car that may be too exspensive to insure for ur age, driving record & area where u live. once you've bought it , it ur problem.. niceor not, it is still a used car. good luck!

l bought 1 car on EBAY and l was somewhat sorry. It wound up having a serious oil leak ($500) and completely worn out brakes ($400) so any money l saved was spent fixing serious problems.

There r more scams on E bay than u could ever count.
Why would u even consider buying a vehicle u have not seen, driven, had inspected, seen the title for, set in, kicked the tires, seen if the battery or engine r even in the vehicle?
Salvage vehicle? wrecked? flood damage? had a fire? bad wiring? blown engine? Bad tranny? Stolen?
If u want this car, buy a plane ticket, go see the car & drive it home if u find everything to be OK. Otherwise have STUPID tattooed on ur forehead & go for it the way u proposed.

My friend buys 1 car a month and he always buy on eBay. He goes in person and uses a trailer to bring the vehicle back. He gets to meet the owner and see the car. He has never been cheated.
You can not do a wire transfer and still protect yourself. And you need to see some ID to prove that you are buying the car from the owner..
