Depends. Your credit history is very short & the chances r that the credit limit on ur credit cards is very low. If u have a proof of income of at least $1800 a month a good down payment then u should be ok. If u have a co-sighner with a good, lengthy credit history u should have no problems financing however if u r doing it on ur own l would suggest at the very least a 3k down payment. Your apr will be in high teens, low 20's. Check carmax.com ''payment estimator'' to see if u can afford the monthly payment. l would also suggest getting an insurance quote to get a feeling for how much u will be spending a month. l financed my first car at the age of 20. It was a brand new civic. l put down 5k & had no trouble getting financed on my own with a much lower score then you.

688 is considered a good to average score. You should definitely be considered for a low interest rate. The only problem would be ur age. Being so young even with no bad marks on ur credit u probably do not have very many good marks either. At least any long running credit accounts showing ur good payment habits. l was 22 with a similar score when l bought my new Mazda 3 almost two years ago. l have a 5.9 percent rate on a five year note. The best thing u can do is to get ur credit report printed out & take it in with u when u start negotiating. They will try to convince u that no one will give u a low rate but fight for that rate that ur credit score deserves. They may say that the credit agencies report differently than business but that is a lie. Your score is what it is & if they do not want to give u a good rate u can go across town to someone who will do what it takes to get ur business. l walked away from the negotiating table after the first dealership started trying to push that stuff on me. l walked into another dealer & told them what l wanted & told them the affects of what happens when l do not get what l want. The said ok & l got the car l wanted with the rate l needed.
They will try to push u around but show them that u do not back down & u will be ok.

but seriously, yes you should be able to get a good rate.
work them hard.do not let up on them.make them nervous not the other way around..but do it nicely and with a smile, but be willing to walk out and tell them that you are going to walk out and go to another car store if they seem to be messing with you.

Average score in the US is 720. You will probably just squeak thru. Go ahead and buy the Toyota..
