My saturn is in an overall good condition with 112,600 miles, bluebooking at 2700. The 99 mercury cougar is 160,000 miles with a salvage title bluebooking around 2700 as well. l havent actually seen or driven the car, just pictures of it and it looks in good condition

l owned two Saturns and both were pretty good cars up till around 150K to 200K miles. l would not trade for a car with a salvaged title. If you try to trade the Cougar in with a salvage title and your Saturn, you're more likely to get more money for your Saturn. Stay away from salvage titles. That is just my opinion.

l own a Saturn 95 SL2 but not to be biased, l personally would not trade for several reasons.

1. Your Saturn has less milage
2. Saturns usually get a better gas milage than Mercurys (i'm guessing there may be a 8 mpg difference)
3. It has a salvage title.you would have to get that fixed (another fee)

Why would you want to trade ? What would you gain ? Or, think what you stand to lose?

l used to drive a Saturn, and you can run the bloody things a half million miles without a problem. I've also had a Mercury, and it stayed in the shop as much as it stayed on the road. And with gas going for $4 a gallon these days, do you really want to swap out 24-25 mpg for 19-20?!

A '99 Cougar with 160K and a salvaged title does not bluebook for 2700. That would be if it were not salvaged.
More like $500. KBB does not even show a value.

l was really interested in buying a cougar a few months ago so l decided to do some research on them. l found out that they are unreliable, bad on gas and they will nickle and dime you to death (lots of repairs.) you would be better off sticking with your saturn!
