About 2 wks ago my car just cut off while l was driving. l try everything to get it going but to no avail. A mechanic looked at it and said the block is cracked, also prior to this breakdown the transmission started slipping. The car has 136k miles on it. other than that the car has no body damage at all and the interior is excellent no rips or tears . Now my question is should l sell this car as is to someone who can maybe fix it or just call the junkyard. What would be my most profitable solution? The tags are good until 2009.

sell it for parts.

Get a junker to give u a valuation - these guys r pretty tight with a buck so do not be surprised if it is only $25-50.

Then get a quote for a reconditioned engine & box, if the body is solid & all the running gear is good some new innards would give u another 150k miles (if u r planning on keeping it for a long time).

It all depends what u want to spend, figure how much a replacement vehicle would be & balance that against the rebuild quote.

Sell it for parts or repair it, do not wanna junk it if its in good shape still
