They are trying to sell me a vehicle that is a lemon..How much of a price decrease should l recieve and whats the problem with lemons...l understand the whole fact that they are purchase back from the manufacturer for a precise defect but what other problems would l be looking at?

There is nothing wrong with a lemon if you prefer that it spend more time in repair than being driven. Just avoid a lemon period. Unless you are so mechanically inclined, they are not easy cars to deal with. Their problems could be from the very simple to very complex. Whenever a company mass produces anything, there will be a car that will never be considered reliable.

No logical person would willingly consider buying a lemon.
Why would you want to buy someone else is problem?

Questions u want to ask before buying a ''Lemon'' branded car.

1. Is the title stamped ''Lemon'' or ''manufacturer is buyback'' by the state dmv? If so, avoid the car unless u ''steal'' it.

2. Will the manufacturer (not the dealer) disclose the known defect(s) (this is federal law)? Also,how long will they warranty the defect, which should now be fixed?

3. Will ur or the dealer is finance source finance a lemon vehicle.

l used to work for a manufacturer & knew the lawyer that handled the actual lemon law cases. He claimed that by the time they went through the state lemon law process that about 90% of them were o.k.

However, l would recommend that u get a master tech for the brand (from another dealership) to inspect the vehicle before buying it. It is cheap insurance.

There is also another class of vehicles that r bought back by the dealer, with the manufacturer is assistance, to avoid the lemon law title stamp. These cars r generally repurchased to avoid them going to lemon law litigation. A reputable dealer will have paperwork from the factory disclosing the defect(s) & providing an extended warranty for this system on the vehicle.
