l really do not know what car to get as my first car, l have a budget of £1500,

i have found some that have been 52 and 51 plates

i really do not wanna get anything older than 2000

and the millage has to be below 60,000

Vauxhall Corsa, but avoid the 1.0, 3 cyl.

Some bargains to be had during the current economic slump. Be firm and strike a good deal or walk away.

Generally speaking the most reliable small cars are Japanese. Honda, Nissan etc. Always look for full service history. Usually abbreviated to FSH. If the car has been serviced regularly, the chances are it will be in reasonable health. Modern engines do high mileages these days, if they are looked after. Quentin Wilson did a super booklet on buying a used car which would be invaluable to you if you can locate it!

Not for that price.

Japanese cars are reliable, but british cars like vauxhall are easier and cheaper to maintain when its time to go to the garage.

l do not know what some people is perception of British and Foreign cars are BUT..

NIssan is Micra is British - built in Washington Tyne & Wear
Toyota is Yaris is, l believe, built in France
The Corsa is, or was, built in Spain.
