So, l found a 1999 Daewoo Leganza SX with 41k miles on it for $3350. It is got leather seats, sunroof, woodgrain, power seats, new tires etc etc. and l really like the look of it.

But I am really torn. I've read a lot of bad reviews on it, but then I've also read some great ones too. I am gonna talk the price down to hopefully a thousand less. The Daewoo is not in business anymore here so parts would be hard to come across. But l only need it for a few years until l save up money and l would not be driving it too much, just to school and work which are both less than 10 miles away.

Since l wo not be driving it too much , should l risk it? Are they safe (I am pretty paranoid about it b/c l flipped my 97 Grand Am twice and l was completely safe and the airbags didnt even go off and l read that 97s were not that great in crash tests).

So what do you fellas think?

if you could get it for $3000or less go for it. there not great cars but what can you get for 3000 ....i would try it

do not buy a daewoo they are serious piece of crap cars, you will be paying for repairs later all the time

l would not do it unless u were given the car.

Seriously, parts r almost impossible to find for them & they r very expensive if u do.

You would be better off getting a 1996 Accord with 150,000 miles for the same money.

If u decide not to take my advice, make sure u take the car to an independent mechanic to have it inspected before u sign anything.
He will give u a fair assessment of the condition of the car & will, hopefully, try to talk u out of purchasing it.
It will be well worth the $100.
