If someone wants to sell there car,by just letting you take over the payments, and they say just put it in your name? do you have to have good credit to put it in your name or no? they just want the bank to sign it over in my name? but l dont have good cradit?

''Taking over payments'' implies that u r NOT going to put the car in ur name. It means that u r going to leave the car in the current owner is name & just make the payments. Doing this usually ends up in disaster for one or both involved parties. If u do not make the payments, the current owner gets bad credit. If u make all the payments & pay off the car, the other guy might just keep it after u pay it off! After all, it is legally his car!

If u put the car in ur name, u r buying the car. You will have to apply for, & be approved for, & get a loan in ur name for the balance that the current owner owes to the bank.

You may not have to have ''good'' credit to put the car in ur name. It depends on many things, like how much of a loan u need, whether or not u r employed & how much money u make, & just how bad ur credit is. But if ur credit is not so good, u may qualify for a high rate, & the payments could be higher than the current owner has.

Your first step before getting ANY car is to apply for a loan, to see if u qualify, & if so, how much u qualify for. That will determine whether or not u can buy this car, or any car for that matter.

You cannot simply or legally ''take over payments'' on a vehicle. You must secure a separate loan or have financing in place to clear them and their bank off the paperwork associated with the vehicle.
