no you can just call vic roads tell them the vin they will tell you there on the phone. that is of course if you live in vic

Yes go to Car-fax.com put in the Vin and you should get a free report. or go to the dealer and make them run you a car-fax report on the car you want

Actually, there is a new website that gives info on used car history for free. l did a search for ''auto vin lookup'' and it came up. To look up a vin you have to add a vin but it does not cost any money. It appears to be a database where people put in the history of a vehicle they have owned or know the history of. The car l was looking for was not in there but l bookmarked it for the future.
